TERMS & CONDITIONS

The terms and conditions below were made to help us improve and maximize the safety and quality of service offered to our clients. Please read carefully before purchasing any of our trips since it will be understood by SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA that at the moment you sign in, you are fully accepting our policies.

 

RATES AND FARES

Every package that includes air flights inside Panama, transportation by land or water, and foods will be specified according to its need. The net prices / costs published in this page can be subject to changes. In the event there is some change in the net prices / costs published, they will be updated according to changes in the rates of our suppliers.

 

PRICE CHANGES

Deposits for each trip are based on the price quoted by SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA at the time of booking.
Once a reserve or payment in full is made for any of the packages offered, the prices and rates will remain the same as the ones listed at the time of booking.

 

PAYMENTS

A deposit of 50% of the tour costs must be made when the service, tour or expedition is reserved with balance due at least 2 weeks prior to the tour day. Reservations should be made at least 30 days before taking the tours, if reservations are made in less than the time indicated, you will be subject to the articles of CANCELATIONS AND REFUNDS below.

 

CANCELLATIONS AND REFUNDS

30 days before the tour day, a $50.00 management fee per person will be charged. Refunds on every deposit will depend on the individual politics of each hotel, transportation company or other contractors.
Less than 30 days to 2 weeks before the tour day, a $60.00 management fee per person will be charged. Refunds on every deposit will depend on the individual politics of each hotel, transportation company or other contractors.
Less than 1 week before the tour day, SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA, will charge 100% of the total of the price paid by the client.

 

GROUP PAYMENT AND DEPOSITS (4 persons or more):

A 25% deposit is due upon booking to hold the reservation. The balance is due (30) days prior to the client’s tour, unless other arrangements with SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA have been made beforehand. Any service that is not specifically requested and confirmed by SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA will not be rendered.
Cancellation policy is the same as for individuals (see above).

SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA

Acts as an agent for hotels, transportation companies and other contractors and shall not be held responsible for any injury, death, loss, delay or irregularity that may occur including, but not limited to, any defects in a vehicle or any other form of conveyance; the acts or default of any company or person engaged in obeying a traveler, acts of God, detention, delays or expenses arising from strike, theft, force, civil disturbance, government restriction; accident by aircraft, boat, bicycle, motor vehicles or any other form of transportation in any hotel, guest house, pension or other type of accommodation. Payment of deposit is taken as acknowledgment and agreement of the above items.

 

RESPONSIBILITY:

Please read carefully. These paragraphs define our responsibility with respect to all our trips! SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA acts only as an agent for the passenger in regard to Travel inside the Republic of Panama, weather by road, railroad, boat, airline, helicopter, or horse, and assumes no liability for injuries, damages, losses, accidents, delays or irregularities that may be caused either by reason of act or default of any hotel, carrier, boat, restaurant, company or person, rendering any of the services included in the trip, or any other circumstances beyond their direct control. SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA and/or agents accept no responsibility for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in flight schedules, loss of (or damage to) baggage or any article belonging to the passengers, sickness, personal health, weather, strikes, roads an trail's conditions, river levels, delays in transportation, wars, accidents, chance, major force or other reasons. Such losses or expenses will be borne by the passenger, as tour rates provide for arrangements only for the time stated. Many of the activities involved are inappropriate for those people with severe health problems or physical disabilities. It is the passenger's responsibility to judge the appropriateness of these activities considering his or her physical capabilities.

 

PARTICIPANTS RESPONSIBILITY:

Trip members are responsible to select a program appropriate to their abilities and interests. In order to assist you with the suitable itinerary we are happy to discuss the program you are interested in. Trip members are held responsible for being in good health to undertake the trip and also for preparing for the trip by studying the itinerary and pre-departure information packages, for bringing the appropriate clothing, equipment and personal documentation as advised therein.

 

WHAT TO BRING:

*Two of the most important things to bring to Panama are a pair of BINOCULARS and a field guide ("Birds of Panama"). They are a must for getting a closer look at wildlife and are not available for rent in Panama
*Sunscreen and insect repellent
*Casual clothing for city travelling
*Shirts - cotton or light synthetic, long-and short-sleeved
*Trousers - cotton or light synthetic pants 
*Hiking shorts 
*Footwear: waterproof lightweight hiking boots, river sandals (Teva-type sandals), tennis shoes/running shoes.
*Socks - bring extra pairs in case feet get wet
*Rain gear - poncho, raincoat
*Hat with visor for rain and sun protection
*Plastic water bottle - especially for hikes
*Flashlight with spare batteries and bulb
*Camera and film (inside an impermeable case or in two plastic bags)
*Ziplock plastic bags for spillable toiletries
*Extra prescription glasses and medication
*Small day pack or fanny pack for hikes
*Sweater or Jacket (a must for the Highlands)
*Underwear
*Plastic garbage bags for wet items
*Swimwear
*Bandannas
*Collapsible luggage to store extra items in Panama

 

IMPORTANT NOTICE

For tours related to any type of jungle or rainforest hiking, the client is responsible for using the right gear recommended by SAFARI EXPEDITIONS PANAMA (boots, long and loose pants "tucked into boots", socks, long sleeve shirt or t-shirt, hat, and a strong and effective insect repellent). Be conscious that you will be visiting a very different environment.
Please Remember: The payment of deposit will be taken as an acknowledgment and agreement of the above items.
